GAME DAY!

Locations, Rules and More!

A huge thank you to all of our host bars and restaurants for sponsoring a hole this year!

Their support makes the tournament possible and keeps the fun flowing. As you make your way through the course, please be respectful of the establishments, their staff, and fellow patrons.

And don’t forget to tip your bartenders — they’re working hard to keep everyone happy and hydrated while we all have a blast!

Game Day Schedule

  • Check-In & Start Time

Be at your starting location by 11:00 AM to register your team. Once everyone is present, we’ll get you checked in. Use this time wisely — grab a drink, warm up, buy mulligans, and check out the tip jars or 50/50 (if available at your location).

The tournament begins at 11:30 AM sharp — no fashionably late arrivals, please.

    Waivers (Yes, Both of Them)

This year, you’ll be signing TWO liability waivers:

    • A general liability waiver

    • A waiver required to ride the Double Decker Bus

Both waivers must be signed to receive your play wristband. And yes — even if you swear you won’t ride the bus. Plans change, rules don’t.

    Age Requirement

All players must be 21 or older. IDs will be checked at registration. If you’re under 21, you won’t be allowed to play — no exceptions.

  • Thanks for hanging with us for a few minutes while we cover the rules and give a well-deserved shoutout to our sponsors. We know you’re eager to play, but this part’s important — then it’s game on.

  • We’ll start with a shotgun start at 11:30 AM sharp. When the horn blows, play begins — be in position and ready to go.

  • DJ Tru2It will be setting the vibe at Steinhardt’s, warming things up and getting the party ready for the after-party and awards.

  • The tournament ends 4:30 PM sharp. You should be at your last hole and at least one player on your team playing at 4:30. Then it’s full speed to Steinhardt’s for food, drinks, laughs, and the epic after-party and awards you’ve been waiting for. Don’t hold back — the celebration starts the second you arrive!

  • Black Hog BBQ hits Steinhardt’s at 4:30 PM, serving up everyone’s favorites. Wristbands required to hit the buffet line — no wristband, no bites. Once the initial rush dies down, feel free to go back for seconds, but be courteous and let everyone get their turn first.

  • Downtown Frederick’s garages or unmetered spots are your best bet — you won’t be hanging by your car much anyway. Parking info here.

  • Yep! Grab cash for mulligans, tips, and the 50/50 raffle. Digital wallets won’t cut it this time.

  • Make it a safe party — designated driver or rideshare only. Fun is mandatory, accidents are not.

  • Know them, follow them, crush the competition. Official rules here.

  • Yes! Go wild — the top three best-dressed teams snag awesome prizes. Keep it fun, keep it friendly.

  • Rain, snow, shine — we play. Only a State of Emergency from the Governor can stop us. Stay tuned on Facebook, email, and text for updates.

  • We know plans change and surprise substitutions happen! Player name changes are welcome until team lists and scoring materials are finalized (usually about a week before the event). After that, any substitute player will need to play under the name of the original player they’re replacing — think of it as a temporary alter ego, especially for hole-in-one and scoring purposes.

  • Caddies and groupies are welcome to tag along for the day! A few friendly reminders: if you want to hop on the shuttle, you’ll need to sign a waiver and rock a special wristband—no band, no boarding. Shuttle space is limited, so seats aren’t guaranteed. Only registered players can swing, score, win prizes, and attend the after-party celebration. Everyone else gets bragging rights and moral support duties only.

  • We love a close competition… but we still need winners. If teams finish the tournament tied, we’ll use the following tiebreakers:

    Last 6 Holes
We’ll add up each tied team’s scores from the final 6 holes. The team with the lowest combined score wins the tiebreaker.

    Last 3 Holes
Still tied? We’ll total scores from the final 3 holes. Lowest score takes the lead.

    Last Hole
If the tie continues, it comes down to the final hole. Best score wins.

    Drawing
If teams are still tied after all score-based tiebreakers, we’ll go old-school. All tied teams will be entered into a drawing.

Game Day Route

Take the shuttle…

We’ve teamed up with Maryland Double Deckers this year to give your feet (and legs) a well-deserved break. Whether you’re tackling those long stretches down Market Street or catching a ride back to the after-party at Steinhart’s, the shuttle has you covered.

A full shuttle stop schedule will be rolling in soon — stay tuned and plan accordingly!

Plan your day wisely…

Take a moment to review every location you’ll be stopping at throughout the day. The order matters — sticking to the planned route helps us keep crowd control smooth, safe, and consistent at each stop.

Be sure to schedule a lunch break at your favorite spot (you’ll want the fuel 😉).

And don’t forget: play stops promptly at 4:30 PM. For reference, Google Maps estimates this route takes about one hour to walk with zero stops — so factor in plenty of time for fun, photos, and movement along the way. Plan smart so you don’t miss out!

The extras…

Vote for Your Favorite Putt-Putt Location!

Don’t forget to vote for your team’s favorite Putt-Putt location! When you turn in your scorecards at the after-party, scan the QR code and cast your vote.

📌 One vote per team — choose wisely.

Help us crown the “Most Creative Watering Hole,” and give bragging rights where they belong!

Team Photos

Make sure to stop by Olde Towne Tavern to snap your official team photo! Whether you’re rocking matching outfits, wild costumes, or just your best game-day smiles, this is your moment to capture the memories. Swing through with your full team, strike a pose, and give us your best look — these photos are all part of the fun and bragging rights long after the last putt drops. Don’t skip it!

Also Available for Purchase…

Tip Jars / Pull Tabs

Keep an eye out for folks selling tip jars at different stops along the course for a chance to win cash prizes, adding a little extra thrill between holes! Drop a few bucks, test your luck, and see if fortune smiles on your team — it’s all part of the fun and keeps the energy high.

50/50

Don’t miss your chance to play the 50/50 raffle! 🎟️💸 Half the pot goes to a lucky winner, and the other half supports the Frederick Civitan Club, helping local children and adults with developmental disabilities. Grab your tickets, cross your fingers, and maybe you’ll walk away with some extra cash while doing something good — it’s a win-win!

Don’t forget your costumes!

As you travel through downtown, show off your team’s creativity and get into the spirit of the tournament. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and this year we’re adding a twist: while our volunteers will still help judge, each team also gets one vote for their favorite costume. Make it fun, make it bold, and let your team’s personality shine — the more colorful and creative, the better!

Mulligans… “Chance to replay a stroke without penalty. Usually after a poor shot.”

What is a Mulligan?

mul·li·gan

/ˈmələɡ(ə)n/

noun

INFORMAL•NORTH AMERICAN

  1. a stew made from odds and ends of food.

  2. (in informal golf) an extra stroke allowed after a poor shot, not counted on the scorecard

Still have questions? Take a look at the video below.

Mulligans (Because Everyone Loves a Do-Over)

• Mulligans may only be purchased at your starting hole — plan ahead.
• Using a mulligan means the ball goes right back to the spot of the previous shot. Same place, better outcome.
• Mulligans are good for one shot only — not a full hole rewind.

Out-of-Bounds Shots (Oops Happens)

• If a shot goes off course, place the ball back at the original shot location.
• A one-stroke penalty applies — unless you use a mulligan and make it disappear.
